Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
1. Introduction
Trial Exam Online Shop ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Trial Exam web application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account Information — name, email address, and password when you register manually, or your public profile information (name, email, profile photo) when you sign up via Google or Discord.
- Profile Information — contact number and social media accounts you optionally add to your profile.
- Optional Demographics — gender and age bracket, which you may optionally provide in your profile. These fields are used solely for anonymized, aggregate analytics (for example, pass rates by age group) to help us improve the platform. They are never shown on your public profile and are never sold to third parties. You may leave these fields blank or change them at any time in Edit Profile.
- Usage Data — exam attempts, scores, analytics, and interactions with the platform.
- Cookies & Similar Technologies — we use essential cookies to keep you signed in and analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the site. This includes aggregated product-analytics tools that record on-page interactions (such as clicks, taps, and how far you scroll) and masked session recordings to help us improve usability. These recordings automatically hide your typed text and form inputs. See Section 4 below for the third-party analytics providers we use.
- Payment Information — processed securely through our third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit card details.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide exam content and track your progress
- To process subscriptions and payments
- To send important service updates and notifications
- To improve our platform and develop new features
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy, and we only share the minimum information required for them to function:
- Authentication — Google and Discord (for Sign in with Google / Discord).
- Hosting & Platform Analytics — a third-party cloud hosting provider (site hosting and anonymized analytics for page views and performance metrics).
- Database — a third-party managed database and authentication provider (user accounts, exam data, storage).
- Advertising & Conversion Analytics — third-party advertising and conversion-measurement tools provided by major social media advertising platforms. We use these to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to understand actions visitors take on our site (such as sign-ups and subscriptions). These tools may set cookies and share data with the advertising platform. You can opt out of personalized advertising through the ad or privacy preferences of the relevant platform. We also send certain conversion events to these platforms server-side; where you are signed in, identifiers such as your email are cryptographically hashed before transmission so they cannot be read directly.
- Product Analytics & Session Insights — a third-party product-analytics provider. We use it to generate heatmaps and masked session recordings that show how visitors interact with pages (clicks, taps, and scroll depth) so we can improve usability. The tool automatically masks text and form inputs, so exam questions and anything you type are not captured. This data is processed by the provider under its own privacy terms.
- Error Monitoring — a third-party error-monitoring and performance-diagnostics provider. We use it to capture technical error reports and performance data (such as error messages, device and browser type, and IP address) so we can diagnose and fix problems. We do not enable session replay.
- Payment Processing — PayMongo (for subscription payments). We do not store credit card details.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see our Data Deletion page).
Seasonal Data Reset: At the end of each exam season (March and August cycles), review-related data — including exam attempts, scores, streaks, badges, analytics, and study plan progress — is automatically reset. Your account credentials and profile information are retained. This process is part of the normal operation of the platform and does not require a deletion request.
7. Your Rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data and account
- Withdraw consent for data processing
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
